  Percents are written with a % sign.

( 35%, 50%, 100% )

A percent of a whole is a part of that whole. When turned into a fraction, a percent gets a denominator of 100. 25% would become the fraction 25 over 100. When figuring out what value 25% of 60 is we use the formula:

Part = Fraction x Whole

First convert 25% into a fraction:

Next plug the fraction into our equation:

15 is 25% of 60.
